Download a dataset
RAISE still prefers running your script on the certified node that holds the data. Two download actions exist on a dataset details page when you are signed in.
Download Sample
Download Sample is the shareable file the owner uploaded (shortened or anonymised). Use it to explore the structure and to try a script on your computer. See Dynamic dataset accessing.
Download Dataset
Download Dataset saves the full regular file to your computer.
It is available only when all of these are true:
- You are signed in
- The dataset status is Enabled
- The dataset is regular (not streamed)
- You are allowed to download: you own it, the owner turned on Allow Anyone to Download, or an approved access request includes download permission
If you can use the dataset in experiments but the owner did not allow download, the page can show Download Forbidden.
How to download the full file
- Open the dataset details page and choose Download Dataset.
- Pick where to save the file (or use your browser Downloads folder).
- Wait for the download to finish. If the dataset has a SHA-256 hash, the portal checks the file against that hash.
Cancelling a download can leave a partial file.
